5S SYSTEM IS A COMPLEX METHOD OF YOUR WORKSPACE ORGANIZING. ADOPT THE EXPERIENCE OF WISE JAPANESE


Japanese 5S system is a clearly structured system that allows you to create optimum working conditions at work or in the office. The way to achieve ideal conditions is to create workplace order, cleanliness and neatness, measures development which allow to save time and energy.

Components of 5S methodology


М5S methodology is based on five basic principles of work organization, or
as they are called by Japanese themselves, 5 steps:

Step 1 – “Seiri” (整理)
in Japanese means sorting, removing all unnecessary.
Step 2 – “Seyton” (整頓)
can be translated as ” neatness, maintenance of proper order.
Step 3 – “SEIS” (清掃)
translated as “ordering, keep clean.”
Step 4 – “Seiketsu” (清潔)
word that literally translates as “standardization”.
Step 5 – “Sitsuke” (躾)
this concept means “perfectibility, discipline formation.”

Shining
To cline until it will shine – this is an action for workplace cleaning, because the dust is one of the main reasons of early equipment failure

Standardization
Standardization – it is schedules and methods of cleaning and assorting elaboration.

Order perfection
Ordering – it is an organization of main material. Allow main operator to find the material as it is needed, because the material lies on its own place.

Assortment
Assortment involve elimination of unneeded material and work location simplification. Assortment this is separation of essential from unessential and remove of the last one from the workplace.

Systematization
Keeping it is continuing of assortment, ordering, cleaning and standardization. It is one of the most important and difficult, because it is forwarded for satisfaction of needs 5S fulfilment on regular and systematic basis.

5S implementation is a fundamental step towards lean manufacturing development!

Note: in February 2015, the Efes Ukraine company, one of the leaders of the Ukrainian beer market, has successfully passed 5S certification system which was previously implemented by them in production (certificate No sic.02.008.1299).
